Hil-Gle.Com still under construction: Progress Report

It’s pretty much what I had expected, a fits and starts procedure wherein one’s understanding of a set group of techniques invariably leads to the adopting of yet another more mutated approach. What I have up now is based on my hosting and domain provider’s quick kit. This kit was good for what it was, although as cloudware it was prone to internet smeg snarkies. (Not to be too technical.) During one two day outage I toured my host’s online library to find a possible solution to this laggage. (My email to the help desk has not been responded to in four days now.) There amidst the faqs and other jazz, I found refs and helps for another program which seemed much more to my liking. So I went with that.

I am now three days into the learning curve and have already constructed pages somewhat superior to what is currently on my site. Are they any good? I don’t know. I am only shooting for ‘less bad’ here. Or at the very least lay outs which are suitable for what it is I intend to do. Whether these web thingies will play on the interweb thingy remains to be seen and may yet be the cause of another only-comical-in-retrospect hissy fit on my part.

I am a few days away, in any case. The piece on 4th Wave Pulps is now done, except for the formatting. I intend to post a disambiguation page on the post as well as a log entry here. (Same stuff, both places.) I think this is preferable to putting notes into the body of the text. In any case, I will see how it goes.
